Hey There
I’m Larissa! I make bold, colorful art inspired by Tampa Bay, music, and a little bit of mischief. Here’s the story behind LRP Creations and why I love creating pieces that make people smile.
LRP Creations: Origin and Inspiration
My Artistic Journey
I actually really enjoy sculpture work, which I did a lot of in college. Back then, I focused on strong feminist statements through my pieces. After graduating, apartment life made woodworking and flameworking tricky, so I shifted my focus.
I started decorating my apartment with my own art. I noticed that stores had items I liked but didn’t love, so I decided I could make them myself. I picked up painting again, something I hadn’t done much since high school. Once I started, I couldn’t stop. I filled my walls and wanted to share my work at local markets, but I wasn’t sure what I would even sell. Eventually, I decided to put my paintings out into the world, and it was an instant addiction. That’s how LRP Creations was born.
Before LRP Creations, I ran Larissa Pierce Art, focusing mainly on digital pet portraits from home. They were a hit, but I didn’t feel fulfilled making them. I still create them on the side, but my main focus is painting now, and I love it with no regrets. I hope one day to revisit sculpture, but for now, I don’t see myself getting bored of painting anytime soon.
My Artistic Inspiration
Most of my art is inspired by Tampa Bay in some way. Whether it’s painting Tampa Bay Lightning fan art, local landmarks, or creating fun, vibrant pieces, Tampa always roots my work. When I’m not drawing inspiration from my city, I turn to music, which has a huge impact on me. Artists like Halsey and Lady Gaga influence the energy, color, and emotion I put into my pieces.
My Mediums and Process
All of my artwork is either acrylic paintings or digital drawings. My stickers actually started as hand-painted wooden magnets, which were a hit at in-person markets. I loved seeing people laugh at them, especially the ones that feel like a funny personal jab. Eventually, I decided to redraw my magnets digitally to turn them into stickers. The magnets that get the most laughs almost always become my best-selling stickers.
Creating art is exciting, but the best part is sharing it with people. I love hearing that someone feels inspired by my work, seeing people laugh at my magnets, or spotting photos of my pieces in their homes. I try my best to keep my art affordable because sharing it is more important to me than the money, although making a living from it is a nice bonus.
Let’s Connect
I love connecting with fellow art lovers and anyone curious about my process. Whether you want a custom piece, have questions about my work, or just want to chat about art, I’d love to hear from you. My goal is simple: create art that inspires, makes people laugh, and brings joy.
